What is a scholarship?
A scholarship is financial reduction in costs (tuition, accommodation, meals etc) offered by the university to assist student athletes in covering anything from their tuition fees, room, board, flights, books, sports equipment etc. The scholarship amount will vary on a case by case basis from a full ride (total coverage of all costs) to a percentage contribution towards some or all of these costs.
How much does it cost?
Unfortunately not an easy answer. For our agency and student guidance services we charge a fee of $6,000 up front (as per NCAA rules). From there the costs incurred by yourselves will depend on a number of factors but may include, SAT testing, Visa costs, NCAA registration, flights, tuition fees etc etc, depending upon the scholarship we are able to negotiate with yourselves and the university you choose to accept an offer from.
What is the selection criteria?
We are dedicated to fostering positive relationships with all members of the community. To achieve this, we will strive to be as honest and transparent as possible. While this opportunity is indeed remarkable, it is not without its challenges. To be a suitable candidate, you must possess not only the necessary soccer skills but also the academic potential appropriate for university-level study, along with the maturity and resilience required to relocate across the globe, away from friends and family, and to thrive in this new environment. If you fit this description, it certainly presents an incredible life experience and opportunity, but it may not be suited for everyone. The other side of this is our positive relationships with the US College Coaches within our network. Our responsibility to them is to provide the talented players they want to improve their program, this is only possible is students are capable academically as well as up to facing and overcoming the challenges of moving to another country.
Why do we need to trial?
As this company is reliant upon our positive relationships with college coaches, the soccer ability requirements must be met in order for us to be able to represent and therefore recommend you to the US soccer coaches in our network. Beyond the trial we want to get to know you a little bit better before proposing that not only are you suitable for this opportunity, but that this opportunity is right for you prior to signing you up to represent you.
Why are we charged for the trial?
The trial process is limited in the number of places available. In order to make the process as streamlined and efficient as possible, including the day of the trial, we charge $20 to register. This is aimed to firstly covering our costs of putting on the trial and secondly providing a commitment from the player and/or family that they are committed to attending. At the time of registering you will also be asked to provide information about your playing history, academic standing and personal references in order to enable us to assess your suitability for this opportunity.
How do I get involved?
If you are interested in finding out more, please feel free to contact us at contact@studentofthegame.com.au. Otherwise we offer trials at dates to be confirmed shortly, please monitor our social media and upcoming trials tabs for more information.

Absolutely, if you are looking to find out more please contact us at contact@studentofthegame.com.au. We will liaise directly with yourselves regarding the opportunity.
